Five-Year-Old Fires Gun In School Cafeteria

The handgun was reportedly stashed in a backpack when it accidentally fired

(Memphis, TN)  --  A five-year-old is in custody for allegedly firing a gun in an elementary school cafeteria.  Officials at Shelby County Schools in Tennessee tell WMC-TV a kindergarten student accidentally fired the shot before opening bell today.  The handgun was reportedly stashed in a backpack.  There's no word on what caused the gun to go off or how the young student got it.  No one was injured.
