A new British study has found that middle managers suffer the most stress. Scientists watched monkeys and discovered that those in the “middle class” hierarchy suffer the most social stress – and had the highest level of stress hormones in their bodies. The middle monkeys got beat up and yelled at by monkeys below --as well as above -- them on the social ladder. We don't know how they can tell high class monkeys from working stiffs, but maybe we're not meant to.
If you’re a middle manager, does this sound familiar? (ScienceDaily.com)
