While all the news is focusing on “the fiscal cliff,” American families might be dealing with another financial disaster in the New Year as the price of milk could skyrocket to $7 per gallon.

“We call it the dairy cliff,” said Chris Galen, spokesperson for the National Milk Producers Federation.

Parts of an agriculture bill expired in 2012 that could cause milk prices to double by early next year.

If Congress doesn’t deal with the issue, more regulations will expire on January 1st– and American families will see the price of milk double.

So, you might want to consider stocking up on cheap milk – just to be safe. (Washington Post)
