My birthday was last Thursday, and I know my boyfriend forgot to buy me a gift until the last minute. He was an hour late coming home from work, and we had to rush to make the dinner reservations I made earlier in the month. When he presented me with the gift, it was shoved into a used, crumpled gift bag without any tissue paper. OK, he's a guy, I know, but it gets worse.
He bought me the ugliest pair of flannel pajamas in pink. I hate the color pink – like reallyhate the color pink. Not only were they ugly, unsexy, and in a color I hate, but the set only cost $20! Yep, the price tag was still on them. I don't want to sound materialistic, but it was obvious that no thought went into the gift. I almost wish he would have told me he forgot and that he would give me something special over the weekend. Instead, he played it off like it was the best gift ever!
What do I do? Do I tell him that I was really disappointed by his thoughtlessness or do I keep it to myself and hope next year will be better?
Lexi
Have you ever received an awful, last-minute gift from your boyfriend or husband? What was it and how did you handle it?
