While many companies require their employees to dress in black (see: hair salons and many restaurants), Abercrombie and Fitch is not one of them.
In fact, the color is banned from all A&F shops and employees are even discouraged from wearing it at corporate headquarters in Ohio.
When asked why the brand has such a silly rule, CEO Mike Jeffries replied, "Abercrombie & Fitch does not sell black clothing and discourages wearing it at our home office and in our stores, because we are a casual lifestyle brand and feel black clothing is formal. We have nothing against black clothing and feel it is perfectly appropriate for things like tuxedos."
Meanwhile, it’s perfect that a company that doesn’t make size XL for women also wouldn’t offer the world’s most slimming color. (Yahoo)
