Justin Timberlake is bringing his star power to the White House. At the Tuesday night concert series celebrating Memphis soul music, he performed "Sittin On The Dock Of The Bay," joined by the song's co-writer Steve Cropper. The Memphis native was one of the highlights of the special night, which brought together artists from past and present to pay homage to the genre. JT's wife, Jessica Biel, was in the audience along with his parents, who all came to watch the star sing for the First Family.
President Obama actually gave him a shoutout during his opening remarks, offering him up as a wedding singer for two of his longtime staff members who were recently engaged.
Apparently, Justin coming to the White House caused quite the stir all day. That morning, he attended a workshop in the State Dining Room hosted by the First Lady. According to a White House transcript, Mrs. Obama joked with the crowd there, who seemed to be starstruck with JT in the house seated just behind her. She told them that watching their faces in the presence of the star was "priceless." She quipped, "Come on. Everyone, let's breathe, even the moms."
