Unfortunately, the stunt failed to have the desired effect
(WENN) - John Mayer recently attempted to impress a potential date by improvising a song using a page of text from erotic novel Fifty Shades of Grey.
The musician, who has dated Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Aniston, found out a woman he was interested in had E. L. James' bestselling book on her Kindle e-reader, so he tried to woo her by putting the words to music.
Earlier this week, he told Jimmy Fallon, "I was trying to impress her, and she had (the book) on her Kindle. And so I said, 'I'm going to sing it to you.' So I sang her one of the pages of Fifty Shades of Grey."
However, the stunt failed to have the desired effect: "She fell to the ground... laughing."
