Minnesota Resident Gets Christmas Display Shaming Anonymous Letter

This is the time of year when we go “Clark Griswold” and put up displays for Christmas. An unnamed Minnesota resident did just that, tastefully, but instead of getting praise they got a shaming and anonymous letter.

It stated the display was “a reminder of systemic biases against our neighbors who don't celebrate Christmas or who can't afford to put up lights of their own.” And We must do work of educating ourselves about the harmful impact an outward facing display like yours can have."

Crime Watch Minneapolis posted the letter on Twitter and commenters went to town on it. They pointed out the hypocrisy of the writer especially when the note ended with "St. Anthony is a community welcoming of all people and we must demand better for ourselves."

Comments included many suggesting more lights needed to be put up, some thinking it was a “fake” moment, and one pointing out the letter writer is "doing exactly what they accuse the homeowner of doing- not being accepting of others."
