Study says people who live in small towns are happier than city folk

When it comes to who's happier -- city mice or country mice, so to speak -- people who live in small towns are happier than city-dwellers.

So say researchers at Montreal's McGill University and the Vancouver School of Economics, who just published a study about a survey of 400,000 Canadians.

According to the study, one conclusion was apparent to the researchers: “Life is significantly less happy in urban areas,” despite higher levels of education, income and employment than their townie counterparts.

In fact, those in small towns were more than eight times happier than folks from the city, according to the study.
